Nursery Dresser

Do you remember this dresser? This is the dresser that I pawned off of Megan and am planning to have in the nursery.

Pay special attention to the hardware,

It will make more sense later in the post.

The weather was finally cooperating a couple of weeks back, so I got to work. 

I decided to keep the outer portions as-is, and paint the drawers white. 

The bottom drawers, that don't have hardware, and instead have a "built-in" handle, were also kept as-is.

Once the white paint had dried, I applied a water based poly. It was A LOT less stinky than the oil based stuff. Which is what we want, since this is going to be in the baby's room.

Here is the dresser in the nursery!

I LOVE how it turned out.

Now, you might be noticing that something is missing. The hardware. I can't decide what to do. I want to spray paint the hardware, but I don't know what color. Something basic, like silver? Something fun like, orange? Something that will blend, like white? Multiple colors? I am open to suggestions :)

Slate Gray Dresser

This started out as a pretty predictable dresser.

We knew that we wanted to give this dresser a punch of personality. 

So we looked to....what else....Montana Cans! After a coat of color and a bit of stenciling.

Dressers as unusual storage

So the past few days we have posted some dressers for sale - and hopefully you like them.  If you are thinking to yourself that you already have a bedroom set and don't need a dresser, you may be wrong.  There are many places that you can use a dresser as unexpected storage:

Take out the drawers and use as living room storage... bonus it gives to extra space to decorate the top!

In an awkward nook used to center art:

Who needs a hutch in their dinning room, when a dresser providers so much more storage!

Add a pop of color and storage to neutral living room:

Dining room again:

 And again...

So many places to use a cool dresser to add some fun and functional storage to a room. Do any of you have dressers in places other than bedrooms?

Bamboozled

Yes, I know that bamboo is all the rage, it is good for the environment, and it cheaper than hard wood, but that is not the type of bamboo I am talking about. 

I am talking the ’80s are back bamboo furniture.   You saw the post about our bamboo mirror redo, well I am here to give you a sneak peek into another reFind that we are currently working on - and yep, you guessed it - it has to do with bamboo. 

To get some inspiration for our dresser reFind, yes, dresser (we are tackling the big stuff now) all I had to do was a quick Google search and vola, bamboo dressers galore!
