Etsy Shop?

So, it seems that lately I have the urge to create.... with my pillows, wine bags, and many more things that you have yet to see.  So, I am thinking about starting an Etsy shop. Here is the thing... I am scare to!

Many people have such awesome things on their site, that I don't know if mine could compare.  What if I spend time and money doing stuff, and no one likes it.  Or worse, what if someone bought something, and asked for a refund because they were disappointed in what they got?

The other thing, I have no clue how to start... Not the whole signing up thing, that's easy.  But do I just add stuff and hope people find my store, do I send it out to family and friends? But if I did, would they feel like they had to buy from me? Would you readers be interested in seeing what would be in the Etsy shop?

Do you have an Etsy shop? If you have any advise for me, I would love it! Thanks!

It's something you learn as you go (Finding customers, etc) and I was also nervous starting, but I am glad I did. It seems to me that pillows and stuff for home is the most popular on Etsy. I say go for it! If people dont like it, you can find out easily by going to the critique section and asking others what they honestly think. Try making a few things and posting them on your blog, thats another great way to get feedback! I am doing a giveaway on my blog right now and would love to have you enter!

I am right there with you. I have all my cute creations that I have made for friends and they all tell me I should sell them but I am afraid. My fear is that someone would buy something from me and I would forget to mail it in a timely fashion. ;) Plus what do you do if they order more then one item, how is the shipping figured out? Keep us posted on how it works for you and maybe I will finally get brave. ;0

My only advice is to just start. It will never be the perfect timing and all your ducks will never be in a row. The only thing I did for my Etsy shop was announce it on my blog once, put a link to it on my blog, and let the people roll in from Etsy and google searches... Keywords and SEO are important and you will learn as you go. Good luck!
