Before and After Hutch

Remember forever ago when I told you I was working on this?:

Well here is what it looks like now:

What do you think? I tell you - hutches are hard and time consuming - because it is like painting 2 different pieces, the inside and the outside.

If you are interested in purchasing this piece it can be yours for $165.  Please contact for more information if you are interested.

Transformation that will rock (and swivel) your world - For Sale

Last April, while garage saleing our friend Ali found this amazing {read could be amazing} rocking chair:

The chair was in great shape, rocked and swiveled really well so she bought it - for $3! Then, shortly after, she learned she would be moving to California - and the chair took a back seat to house selling.  Then came the time for the move, and the chair still sat, the ugly duckling, yet to be made into a swan.  Rather then move the chair, she gave it to us, to see if we could work our magic!

Fast forward a few months that the chair was sitting in my craft room waiting to be finished... and finally I could wait no longer.  I stripped her down to the bare bones and got painting:

Again, the before:

And after:

The chair got covered in gray suede, and white piping was added for a little extra touch.  And yes - I made the piping, that is what I think I am most proud of :)

Oh - and that pillow? Just a little something that I threw together with my favorite sweater.  Why ruin a sweater just to make a pillow - well, cat claws got to the sweater, more damage than could be repaired.  So I made it into something pretty!

What do you think?

It can be yours for $85.  Yes - I know that it low, and could be worth much more than that - but it is my first real attempt at recovering a full chair - so it is not perfect.  But it is comfortable, it rocks and swivels. {Pillow not included - sorry}

Bamboo Mirror

Way back in October, we found this mirror....

Shined it up a bit with some bright gold spray paint to make it look new:

Both Annie and I loved it, but it didn't sell.  It has been sitting in Annie's basement waiting for the perfect home. I questioned whether anyone would want a mirror like this....

But today, while blog hopping, I hit up one of my favorites, Emily A. Clark, and saw this:

She found the same mirror at a flea market. And doesn't it look awesome!

If you are interest in this mirror, please click here for more information. Or, maybe I will find a place for this in my house.... :)

Advent Calendar

I wasn't working on a clock or an eye chart (sorry Molly and Jan)....

I was making an advent calendar!!

So after lots of cutting, sewing, gluing, and vacuuming up felt scraps, I had the finished product:

Nate and I each have to fill the stockings with something. A note, a piece of candy, the winning lottery ticket, etc.  Nate is in charge of even days, and I am in charge of odd days.  It will be fun to open the advent and to watch Nate open it too!

What do you think? Turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself.

I have TONS of felt left over - so if anyone is interested in having one made for them - just let me know -  $25 for one.

Dining Chair For Sale

Chairs are one of my favorite items to reFind, because the transformation is always exciting. We revived this chair from plain and expected to crisp and surprising.  Here is what we started with....

Here we are half way...

And here is what we ended up with.....

I would love to see this chair in a guest bedroom, or along side a bunch of other unique chairs in a dining room. Heck...I would love to see this chair in a dorm room. I know I could've used something surprising, back in the day of waffle ceilings, 2 x 4 lofted beds and Totino's pizza rolls/pizzas. What I would really love to see though is this chair, along side three others......like what I did in my post from yesterday.

Here are some pics of the detail....

This chair is so cute and it can be yours for $30!
Or, you can have Meg and I create an entire set for you.
Contact us at reFindMN@gmail.com for purchase.

Let's see it just one more time ;)
